Is Testing different maps dangerous?

Service manual has you covered on this, they say white because of the EPA restrictions tend to make the bikes run a bit on the lean side but everything else is accurate, forget the Honda stuff as it is not the manufacturer specific they tend to run multi carb engines so take their stuff with a grain of salt. The image I posted earlier is straight from the 2005 Softail Factory Service Manual.

What's more important about it being dangerous is running into something while trying to fill the cells..

Just to follow up on this post. I went with a PowerVision from FuelMoto, got a map straight from DynoJet based on my Stock ecm file for all my upgrades. Seems to be running good, I will know about the fuel mileage and performance this week. Gonna run a few auto tunes, maybe one day take it to a dyno guy if Im not completely happy. But at this point Im just looking for decent gas mileage and no major issues.
