I posted this on another forum but I think there is more traffic here and a lot more active professional tuners on this site.
I'm looking for opinions on a getting dyno tune on my 2019 Ultra limited. I bought a Dynojet Power vision PV-2B tuner thinking that would be the best tuning option when I get my S&S 128 big bore build completed (soon) but I am running into a road block. I would like to get a professional dyno tune on it but can't find anyone within a few hundred miles of me that can do it using the power vision. The only guy relatively close says he can absolutely tune it but I have to go with a "Technoresearch tuning package" for $1000.00. Up until this point I had never even heard of TechnoResearch but this guy claims they are the best tuning software on the market. Anyone have any experience getting dyno tuned by someone using TechnoResearch? Would love to hear some feedback or thoughts on this, especially from actual professional dyno tuners.
For your year and application the Direct Link (techno research product) can do an excellent job of tuning your bike.
Since you already own the PV, keep looking for a tuner. They both are very similar, just difference in how the actual software does its thing. I use both systems in my shop. They each have cool features that the other doesnt.

Technoreasearch can do a fine job but as said keep looking you already own a PV. No dam reason to pay $1,000 for a tune.
If you purchase the PV fro Fuel Moto they can email you a tune that will be dam close free.
Owning your own Technoreasearch pay per bike is great tool to have . I have it.

All depends on how you define close. All tuning hardware manufacturers offer starter cals. Some are close and some not so much. All depends on the combination you are tuning not which manufacture they come from.

I decided to Keep the PV and purchased the target tune to go with it. My new plan is to attempt to tune it on my own. I have a TT base map from Dynojet so hopefully it will be a reasonably easy task. Any advice on thermal cycling this new 128 build with the PV/TT setup?
re the Trget Tune, make sure you get the Tune that is activated for Target Tune . Have that tune already loaded on your Power Vision and ready to go.
Once you install the TT you will need the activated tune or you will get error codes. I thought i could run a normal tune , the new O2 sensors will not work.
I am waiting for the activated Target tune, Sent the Map to them. I am using one of their MAPs ..So it should be easy .
Don't know what happened to the bike yesterday , just died when I went to start it. So it is in the auto electrician , so hopefully get the activated MAP soon,
then walk to auto electrican , install new MAP with TT activated.

Thanks for the heads up and sorry to hear about your problems. hopefully you will get it resolved soon. I have the TT tune sourced from Dynojet, loaded into PV, and 3 target tune sessions completed. No check engine light, codes, or other problems yet. It is running great so far.
I have a 19 STGS with a S&S475, 2into1 rinehartt, SE heavy breather and a PV tune that Kingston Harley installed and dyno'd. The bike works good, no popping, pre detonation, backfiring and the gas mileage is very good. The problem i have is, it has huge dip down low and a smaller dip around the 3,200. I want to clean it up. I have been asking around. Ive come up with B&A Machine performance. They are just south of Ottawa. "a little over a couple hours away" Everything i heard about them is great. They tune with Techno Research direct link, I'm going to ditch the PV tune that Kingston put in and go with the direct link. I'm headed there this Thursday to have it done.
