I was doing about 15 mph in round-a-bout when engine kicked back and died. Tried to start and after a couple revolutions it kicked back again. Coil checks out. Installed new ignition and same thing. With plug wires pulled, i crancked it and the sparks seem way to rapid which could explain kickback. Rear spark plug slightly rich, front quite rich. It has run perfect for years, instant start, 47 mpg town. I am gonna pop for a new coil anyway and starter drive. 1990 fxlr thanks in advance.
be glad you do not own an iron or shovel and further back. quite common and normal, a bummer with a manual foot.
when she coughs back, she will flood the cylinders and hence long crank. this is more common with points and dual fire coils.
diagnostics not a parts changer is always best, a fluke is a fluke.
remember NO engine fires every cylinder every time.
