Basically you're paying $200 for the license for the power vision and they're only using that as a tool to load the tune into your bike which is created on the dyno.. There will be a big difference between a dyno tune and the FP3..
There will be a big difference between a dyno tune by a competent tune and any canned map. That map they say they can send you is a tune from' another bike. Unless the injectors ate matched to yours, heads reading identical, among other variables, It's not ideal and not tuning your bike.
So the maps that people get from fuel moto for example, these are tunes from other bikes as well tailored to your upgrades that were told to fuel moto before they send that map? Im sure not everyone here is tuning their bike on a dyno and they seem to be happy and things are working fine.
I haven't contacted fuel moto yet to see what my options are but im assuming id need to buy one of their tuners because i dont think they work with the V&H fuelpak3
Actually I believe they do sell the fuelpak 3 but probably not one of their higher recommendations. If you didn't buy your tuner from them they might be reluctant to help you with tunes.. At that point you can always deal with Vance & Hines.. They're not really that bad of a tuner but they are very limited as to specific upgrades.. Primarily used for stage 1 stage two that's about it.. The other thing is there's not many shops independence out there that use a fuelpaktory because of its limitations..

Not a knock on Fuel Moto but this is one of the best "signatures" on here.
I have a fp3 on my 19 street glide with a 22xe cam and dbx45's with dk inserts. When I put in the cam Vance & Hines did not have a map listed for that cam so I worked with Cheyne McNab at v&h and he dialed the fp3 in perfectly for me. Bike runs great with lots of giddy up. Don't short change to the fp3. I've got three years on the fp3 it and it does not need to be touched.

I did speak with them briefly on this and they said they can send me a map for my bike, well as close as they can get. Does the auto tune still need to be used after the map upload or not?

No the auto tune as per Cheyne was not required.... honestly I think the map is very very close and I have no complaints at all. If you already have the fp3 I would give it a try.

Until you actually have it tuned, your head will remain in the sand...
I have no idea what you are looking for. Im sure a tune will work from Fuel moto and for me it would be good, but If you want everything perfect and all of the possible power go with the Dino tune.
