Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
having the tool solves one part of the equation, understanding the hierarchy is next especially when you have several codes since a fault can throw codes in a round about way not related. then there is the code that can have multiple ways to get thrown and you need to find out which was which.
have fun
What do you do if you have a fault warning but no codes?
FWIW IIRC It depends on the model year.. Not sure when but early EFI / Ignitions will require a diagnostic tool to get historic codes but the later stuff will show historic codes. They put an "h" or "c" after the code.
It’s a decent price, I paid $100 for my HF automotive one just to clear a code after I installed a evap purge valve.
that was well worth not going to a dealer though
I find it odd that it doesn't give what years of bikes it works with. Also, bleeding abs brakes is a series of timed pump activation s and bleeding sequences, for those who haven't done it. Not sure how that would work, given all the different technologies currently. Also, tech support is in china. Good luck with that.

in days of olden, you needed a driver to work the abs but those are gone and systems are bleed through and do not require you to pulse the solenoids, even then you can do that with a very cheap logic pulse tool.
with the right communication protocol and a home made test harness you can use just about any scan tool. in the beginning, i had an OTC unit, very expensive back then (1500) and you needed variety of connectors (and modules) since OBD was not around and the tool included a loose end test harness to tap into system that did not even have a port.
