Default Fuel Tank Check Valve O ring leak

Hi all,

My 2006 RoadGlide has a leak at check valve on lower left side of tank. EFI system.
I read about the 2 o rings and procedural instructions and tooling to remove and replace the o rings. Not sure which ring but perhaps the lower one I hear quite common?
My question,… is it possible to simple remove the disconnect check valve from bottom of tank and replace it without tank entry?
I see that slinky hose attached to valve and is that machine pressed on or can it be pulled off and refitted to another check valve?
Looking to see what best easy way to do this task.
Your recommendations and expertise appreciated.

Thanks to all.
Jim

Not worth all the BS. Buy the Fuel Tool and o-rings and be done with it
Will last many more years.

It’s usually just one oring, I’ve replaced numerous orings with a pick and mirror, drain plug o-ring works.

If you don't pull the fuse to the fuel pump and relieve the pressure or let it set a day, if you remove the quick release, it will knock the upper ring around and it will leak when you put connector on.

Take a smooth rounded 90 degree pick and pull the two rings out. Get the replacement rings from Harley or J&P Cycle.

You really don't need a install tool. If you did it for a living, maybe so.

For what its worth, i DO do it for a living. The fuel tool is not always as easy as people believe or spout off about. The orings have a short term 50/50 failure rate as well, the ones that come with the tool. Better off just replacing the check valve for a more reliable repair.
