Hey there i was just trying to load my old files from 2021 of my old laptop that I saved to a USB and went to load on newer laptop that I just installed the Powervision software that has been updated since I last looked at my old files. It wants me to update my old pv1 tuner so if I update it will it still read old files and will it convert to newer software or do I have to start all over?
Old laptop kinda still working but battery is toast and power cord is touchy it has to stay put or it looses power and shuts down and don't really trust it to do a update on tuner. Are there still older versions of software around or should I just update it.
Thanx
I just checked the versionversions i had one is pretty old i think. 2.2.01.1646 and the other is 3.9.2.112

I have a PV2-b and whenever I update the device, I have to update the tune with the PV connected to the laptop and once completed everything works fine.. I get that updating makes changes to the software and hardware and sometimes you loose certain parameters but I have not had any issues with the PV software to date and have done many updates..

Hey thanx for the reply. So I'm abit confused here let me see if I can word this right. So when I update my pv1 tuner to latest firmware at the time that I do it now. It will read or convert my old tune file that's on bike at the moment to the updated file version it needs to be able read and send back to my pv1 and bike as the newer file it needs . So basically I don't have to worry about it as it will pretty much do whatever it needs to read and send tune file without me having to mess with anything . I just don't want to screw it up by doing it. I sent a email to FM but still have not heard back from them and I lost my original msgs to lucas @ FM . Thanx I hope worded it right as to what I meant
at some point DJ started forcing you to 'upgrade' old .dt0 files before you can use them in a powervision. It is an interesting process as it can only happen if the PV is connected to the computer, so I assume it sends the tune to the device for it to happen.
You can save the tune after the process and it will work normally and not ask for it again (at least until a new DJ update mandates it again).

Ya sounds like a weird setup I'm so far back on updates I'm not sure . I remember few years back there was a update and something about it not reading files so I just left it but now I think its time to update and I'm just waiting for the reply I sent in hoping its soon
