Tmax o2 sensor replacement

Tmax o2 sensor replacement
I thought I read that theo2 sensor used in the Tmax is the same as the ones used in VWs. Does anyone know the VW part number? I understand these can be purchased at Napa. I would like to go in there with a part number. For some reason, my Tmax is not recognizingthe autotune as it says the o2 sensors are not detected so I'm assuming I may have a bad sensor. Keeps recommending open loop tuning.

RE: Tmax o2 sensor replacement
Alright, I've searched a bit further and it looks like the parts number is bosch 17014. If anyone can confirm this, I would appreciate it. I also looked around for prices on these and there is a HUGE range. I have seen them in the $150s and I've seen them as low as about $45 shipped. That's a pretty wide range so that is why I want to confirm the part number. I might pickup 2 of the $45 ones just to have a spare at that price.

Read the Tmax manual. My guess is your sensors are fine (unless you have been running the Tmax for some time and this is a new message). Under the Configuration Menu you can check to be sure your senors are in closed loop. Tehr ecommendation message seems to pop up when you are working a new map, when I say no to open loop it automatically goes to closed loop.

RE: Tmax o2 sensor replacement
Tmax hasn't been on the bike long at all. I didn't get the message the first time I hooked up the Tmax but have been getting it since I have been playing with the maps. It tells me the o2 sensors are not detected and it is "recommended" that I switch to open loop tuning. I always click no to this so I'm assuming it is staying in closed loop autotuning mode. Hope that is the case.
Still can't believe the range in prices on the sensors. Autozone is about $154. Ebay has them for $63+ $9 shipping. Another place has them for about $45 shipped. Crazy.

You can go to the Configure menu and click on it, then Closed Loop settings. At the top of that menu under "module" and "loop" you want to see both of them check for closed loop. If they are not, then click on them so they are closed. That should take care of that issue and I don't think you will need new sensors.
