Thanks for the advice. I would really like to end up with a nice 2 into 1 because I'm hooked on tourque but I'm not in love with the loud volume of the 2 into 1 pipes I've heard in the past. I'll probably go with the Rush 1.75" right now because I've owned them before and was very satisfied. I contacted Tmax and they said they would keep my info and let me know when they had a system in place for the 08's. When they let me know, I'll let you all know.
I've put 700mi one the bike so far and the stock pipes are starting to grow on me. When I'm with a group or in city traffic, I miss my Rush pipes, but riding two up out on the open road with no company I like the mellow sound. My wife (whowas the first to tell me that I "didn't need new pipes") when I brought the bike home was also the first to tell me that I "needed a set of pipes" when we got home from a ride with 30+ of our closest friends. I'm staying stock until spring and at least 1k miles and then I'll have more options.
Interesting reading here guys. I am trying to figure out the best setup for me. Has anyone heard anything about Cobra's new Fi1200R? It uses the stock O2 sensors, and I am assuming that is best for the engine. These new engines sure run hot don't they?
I want to start out reducing the operating temp. of the engine, I guess that could be achieved somewhat by richening it up some. I want some "tweakability" so I can add a different exhaust at one point, and a free flow intake later.
