Spark Plug Indexing
I've read somewhere that indexing your plugs so the gap points towards the valves is mo better for combustion.
What do you do with a plug when tightened, ends up pointing 180 degrees out ??
Do you leave it slightly loose or crank down on it but being careful not to strip !

Different thickness washers are used to line up ground electrode to face towards squish band.Its used so the charge isn't shrouded from the spark.Its also used for for more clearance between the piston dome and ground electrode.Mark your ceramic with a sharpie in line with the ground electrode and line it up facing squish band using said washers.The plug must ALWAYS be tightened correctly for proper heat transfer.This trick has not yet produced any scientific results I'm aware of,YMMV,Bob

Bob covered it pretty well, only thing I can add is that on a street bike that it is nothing that will even make a difference.
