I think it has somethin' to do with Zippers way of pricing their products, as I believe they're dropping the entire Zippers line ? Not sure just what the grapevine says ................[sm=icon_quiet.gif]
Anybody know why cycle spot is droping the tmax auto tuner ? Too many problems with them ? customer dissatisfaction ?
I install a lot of them and it certainly isn't problems with the unit or customer dissatisfaction. Easily 99 out of 100 people are thrilled with the TMax. I know of very few complaints and those are from people who installed their own and should have had someone install it for them.
I'm a Thundermax/Thunder Heart dealer and Cycle Spot was selling below my cost. JMO but I think Cycle Spot bought up the old inventory when the 2007 modular TMax unit came out. They got 'em for a song and dumped them on the market.
I was wondering because my local Harley dealer has one in stock and is getting ready to have a 20% off sale for Christmas. While it is priced a full retail, $869 or so, the discount will help. I'm getting ready to do some engine mods and the Tmax will help.
Thanks for the help.
If you go to Cycle Spot website, and click on Thundermax link, there'a a red banner that comes scrolls from right to left across the screen saying they are gonna discontinue all Zippers products due to [ MAP ] Manufacturers Adverting Price Policy { whatever the hell that means ? } The red banner also still says they have T-Max Gen. II for $690.00 , so better get one now !!
I believe that it means that all authorized dealers have to advertize the MSRP or whatever price Zipper's sets. Don't know if that means that have to sell at that price though.
I have heard of people still getting them for $600, give it a go, what have you got to lose? [8D]
You may have some extra steps to take to get up to speed. If they're selling older generation youprobably wouldhave to upgrade the software and firmware. In the not too distant past one firmware upgrade required the unit to be sent in.
