'76 FXE starter wiring problem
"76 FXE, my handle bar control switches were damaged, the on-off rocker switch is broke and the starter button was broke, pulled the switch housing apart, removed the rocker switch and swapped the turn signal button as the starter, I soldered the gray and black wires to the terminals, and the starter turns over, but I have no spark at the plugs, where does my white wire from the rocker go, do I need to install a new on-off switch. Just got the bike last week, looks like there has been some work done to the wiring here and there, it has a old style FLH 3 light dash. It was running before I "fixed it". I have a Clymer manual w/wiring diagram. I did check the Ign circuit breaker and I have juice there. When I got it, the buttons didn't work, I had to jump the soleniod with a screw driver to crank the starter. thanks.
