My RK has the 95" w/ stage 1 kit, but no cam change.
Question #1: Do I leave the TFI module settings stock and adjust from there, or do I set it up per the instructions for the stage 1 and then start the adjustments?
Question #2: It says in the first paragraph of the setup, to run the RPM up to 1800. I noticed that there is an RPM adjustment on the TFI as well that the installation instructions don't go into. Do I run the RPM's up to 1800 by using this adjustment pot, or are they talking about just running it up to 1800 using the throttle?
The instructions that come with the unit are pretty much useless. If you read in the do it yourself section of this site ,TCSD has all the info you need to get it tuned and running right. From my experience you need to get it close and ride it some then go back and make minor adjustments to get it spot on. THe base settings they give in the brochure were way to rich and after I backed it off a little bit my bike runs great.
Use the suggested settings for your build and back off from there. The suggested settings are a bit on the rich side to begin with. The rpm setting on the tfi is the crossover where the low fuel switches to the high fuel, it's usually set around 4 and backing this off too much will lower your gas mileage. You use the throttle lock to run the rpm up to adjust the first pot (green)
Ok, I finally found the items in the do it yourself area. I looked there before I posted, just didn't go far enough back. Thanks for the help in this matter, it's greatly appreciated.
Hopefully I'll be getting my new pipes within the next couple of days and I'll install the tfi then.
