All the detail you need is shown in the current software you just need to learn so you know what to look for. That is what tuners have learned to do and if you want to become a tuner it's what you will learn to do. Making more charts and graphs or going out and learning the system, it's all up to what you really want to do. If you want to see what the changes have do take the Data Mode software and load the file of you log then click on "View" then "Dyno Graph" and fill it in. Look at the results from where you started to where your at after.
Steve, I have a 2004 Fatboy 95" 10.5 w/the 264 SE cams and am changing to the gear drive Andrews 55's. The SERT has been interesting, fun and damn good at tuning out knock retard and (same thing) temp rises. An amazing difference in the power from small tweaks with that software that with some patience delivers a lot of good info from the data aquisition. Admittedly being an old bike shop builder & tuner motorhead there is some advantage but for the guy with no experience a little tutor- help on this forum and they are reaping great benefits without some moron screwing up a tuning. My findings are that the SERT is for 90% of Harely owners/riders/fanatics while the PC is useable for anyone but there is no compelling reason to go PC or any add on. I am interested in seeing what upgrades will be available but I see zero need for change from the open loop ( in industry instrumentation it's called feed forward) tuning via a map based on known data that my present bike has. I don't care for feed back control for a very pricey piece of machinery. The SERT is a very good piece of equipment to have. I had no idea the background of the SERT. Very interesting and thanks.
Our new product will be a replacement for the SERT. I am working with the office to see what we will be able to do to offer current SERT owners an upgrade path to our new product. It will look and operatevery much like the current product with more features.

As I PMed you about a month ago, I'm anxious to get the info and update, both to keep me busy, and excercise my brain. Will you start a new thread with particulars when it's released? (For informational purposes of course, not to be confused with advertising) LOL
My new Ultra is at the dealership ready to be upgraded to Stage II 103" with cams. As you know, this means the air box will have higher flow. Exhaust will be Kerker with 6" SE end caps. Everything I read tells me to go with a SERT. My dealer says this will void the warranty. One out of four dealers I called in Ontario told me they would stand behind the installation if they did the work and used their Dyno guy who has an excellent rep in these parts. Problem is, what if I break down a thousand miles away? Have all of the forum members who are arguing over which fuel management system is best written off their warranties? Shovehead Bob from the forum tells me that ANY fuel management system will void the warranty and Terry1955 is suprised the 103" upgrade itself isn't voiding the warranty! The real twist is that my dealer wants to install a V & H Fuel Pak. I realize that this is because he doesn't have anyone trained on the Race Tuner and no access to a Dyno. But if Shovelhead Bob is correct (and I think he is) then even the Fuel Pak will technically void the warranty. It's looking like to keep my warranty intact, my only option is to go with the dreaded Harley download. Can this be true?
Yep. It's true. Even then it may be sketchy away from the Home dealer. They have to be able to prove that your mod could have done the damage but how do you think it would go in front of a judge when a piston has a hole in it and the dealer is a "professional" and you are a "gear head looser that screwed up his bike" and now it is not even street legal as all the parts cataloges say "Race Use Only"

Any modification to your bike can and will void the warrenty, that's just the way it is. With that said HD has honered plenty of warrenty as long as all work has been done by one of there trained dealers but that's not across the board. You can see there point in this as what happen when someone who says they know how it works and really doesn't, screws with the bike? Is it there fault when it screws up or HD's? So HD is trying to cover there own butt first and yours second. It ropes you into the dealer network which helps HD's bottom line. So the best you can do is have a good working releationship with your local dealer and if your on the road with an issue call the logal dealer first and ask if they can help you.

By law, to refuse to warranty a failure, they must show it is related to or resultant from your modification. So, IF you burn a hole in the top of a piston by installing an ignition controlling device and running with detonation, you are NOT covered. However, if you have an oil pump failure they cannot deny warranty because you changed your pipes.
Dealers often misquote what is or isn't warrantable and most manufacturers will try to relate failure to you doing something wrong, even if you didn't given obvious alteration. IF you race your bike at all, your warranty is gone.
