another starter problem
It sounds as if you are saying the battery is running down here?
Also try jumping the solenoid using something metal to jump from the big lug on the starter to the small solenoid wire terminal (with the wire off it) after making sure you are in neutral. If it starts doing this with the key on,then you have to get into the bikes wiring or relay to see where you are losing the circuit.
If it doesn't start like this and you have a fully charged battery, you can expect to have a solenoid/starter problem if you have ruled out your battery connections at both ends of both cables as being tight and also clean. May be worth removing them and wire brushing contact points for the lugs and the ends themselves.
One other thing you could try is to hold the start button depressed when this clicking of the solenoid happens.for about 4-5 sedonds. If it were a bad battery connection, THAT bad connection would get hot. Touch them all at both ends and see if they are hot. The additional resistance in the circuit caused by a bad connection causes heat.
