Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
Your VE tables are off....with a propper tune the VE's get synchronized to the fuel tables andthe surging is history, playing with the fuel tables in the 30kpa wont help you a lot, plus if your have 02 sensors you just turned them off with the changes you did in the AFR tables.
So if I were to re-download the "canned" map again (the later 176 version)--what would I need to do to get the VE's right and eliminate surging? Have you found a good baseline to start with regarding incrementing/decrementing the values there and in what ranges that would be a good starting point for my setup?
I just spent 20 minuits typing what yo uneed to do and then lost it some how. I'm not going through that all again so here is what I want you to do....read how to tune on the race track in the SERT manual, (it's on the disk) after you read that and you still have questions I will try to help you or you can just get it tuned by a good tuner and be done with it.
Hi, what Doc1 said will help. I hooked up the laptop in data recording mode and ran at the point where the searching was worst on a flat throttle to see what was happening. I then adjusted the VE in that area to fool the system into thinkong it was pulling in more air than it was. This in effect richens things up a bit. I did very small changes at a time and did further data runs till I was happy. I also have all the clb tables maxed out. Keep notes on what you do so you can see what works. Marking the throttle with tape will help show where the throttle is when the problem occurs. The data recorded will give you the revs and you can work out which cells need changing. Dont go mad with the changes as it shouldnt take much to get rid of the problem.
Its me again finally got the TMax unit a few weeks back was a little challenging to fit on the softie had 2 drop 1 shock to get the plug down low 4 the front sensor but all is good.
Only issue I had was with the map I was told it was preloaded & I didn't check it our properly a little impatient but Tech help at TMax put me straight once I loaded & re initallised gave it a kick it went into action ran like a dream on the log.
Time to take it on the road what a ride this unit live up to all expectations I have made minor changes to base map in rev limit & idle only & the improvement in starting & response is unreal
I would recommend the unit based I my experience have only done approx 100klm so far & looking fwd to further improvements as the Auto Tune retwigs things
Once Again Thanks to you all for the help
