so cruiser, let me get this straight, you are saying that all I would need would be these extreme's and would not need a fuelpak or anything? Would the bike be lean in other areas, like idle and cruising?
Cruiser's right. Even though I have both, I might have gotten away with just the Extreme's.If you look at the field test section you'll see what Steve told me about running the fuel pak with the IED's. https://www.hdforums.com/m_2836828/mpage_18/key_/tm.htm
I just installed the 02 IED's and rode my bike inthe MSF ERC today. Never done the course before, and was a little intimidated at first. My bike ran perfectly smoothly all day and I never felt any heat from the rear cylinder. The only thing I did notice was that after being shut down at break time, my bike would run at high idle maybe a minute longerthan before.
I have a stage 2 103 kit in my bike , 255 cams se ac and stock exhaust and supposedly a down load . I dont have any piggy back fuel management system . I wonder it the extremes would be sufficient for my set up?
Question on the XIED vs.IED. I was planning on getting the IED's for my 08 Ultra however, reading on the new XIED's due out in a week, will these lower the engine temperature more than the IED's? I'm looking for the best in cooling temperature and idle without retuning etc.
Just remember that if you have to submit your bike for EPA testing, you better take them off. They are quiet impressive. The IED's are at 14.2:1, the XIED's run the AFR to 13.8:1
We are recommending the XIED's for the Ultra's and EGC's. These Bikes tend to need just a Tad more cooling. Usually are ridden two up, and with the Fairing and Lowers needs the extra help tp stay cool. The extra power is a definite plus.
