Default How do you set the pin with a fob?

I don't have an owners manual. My 02 RK came with 2 fobs that work fine NOW but I saw a post about a pin to bypass the fob incase of a dead sender battery. How do you access/change this pin???

There is a procedure for this. As a matter of habbit, I won't post it in a public forum. Your dealer should be able to get you this info with no hassle. I reccommend getting an owners manual at least.

its simple to punch the pin in if you dont have the fob on you:

1, turn on ign
2, straight away hold down both turn signal switches till the window in the speedo flashes
3, hit the left turn signal button the amount of times for the first digit
4, hit the right turn signal to confirm
5, hit the left again for the second and then the right to confirm etc etcetc

once all five filled in the bike will be ready to roll

if you want to change thepin to one of your choosing you need an assigned fob present if you PM me i'll tell you the procedure

pete

I GOT IT !!!! After a week of trying and reading countless threads with numerous WRONG directions I broke down and tried the local VERY NICE HD DEALER who photocopied the directions from the security owners manual for my 2002 RK. I post this because you can not reset the pin without your fob. For those with older security systems the procedure to reset the pin with the fob are:

1. ignition on-off-on-off-on
2. double tap left dir sw then immediately double tap fob.
3. push left signal once - red key will flash the number of times indicating the first pin number
4. advance (1-9) with the left dir to the new pin digit. (flashing key)
5. double tap fob to set first digit.
6. repeat steps 3-5 for the next 4 pin numbers (total 5 )
7. turn ign off.

check pin disarm:
1. set security ( slow flash red key )
2. run sw off
3. ign sw to acc
4. immediately hold both dir sw until fast red key flash
5. enter first pin number with left dir. then press right dir.
6 repeat step 5 for the next 4 numbers.
7. ign off you are set to go ( remember to switch the run sw on)

note: all numbers are counting the flashing red key. nothing changes in the speedo window.

The above worked for me as well on my 2005 Dyna Wide Glide. Thank you for posting!

sk8rod, the procedure you stated is for the hands free module not the push button fob used on an 02.
