Default Speedo took a dump

Wierd scenario. Riding home today and I look down and see the speedo is is on zero and the security light (no security system), check engine light and battery light are illuminated. Bike ran fine for the rest of way. Got home and turned key and switch off, restarted, all seemed well. Didn't have time to hook up laptop to TMAX to look for codes. Did notice a gray powder coating the underneath of battery. Going to ride to work in the morning and monitor, will check TMAX codes on Wednesday after Patriot Guard mission. Approx 9K miles on bike, maybe battery problem. Is battery covered under warranty w/ TMAX installed? Any insight or advice? Thanks in advance.

Had the same problem with my '05 Heritage last year. Turned out to be a bad ignition switch. Replaced under warranty. End of problem. Hope this helps.

I have a 08 FXD that is going thru the same thing,,The speedo and tach will crash about the same time the fob, battery and check engine light comes on while I am cruising down the road. And my 6th speed indicater goes out even while I am in six gear..Sometimes it will not start properly and I get this "bus er" message.Sometimes when I try to start it,it will run for abot 10 seconds and then die.
I have taken it to 2 shops and the first observed the waranty and let me go without paying a dime,,The second worked on the bike and said that the handlebars were to tall for the wiring and made me pay for the labor...
When I left both places they said the problem was fixed,so when I got home, the second time I started bike the bus er came up....
It is just acting crazy as hell..I think the ECM might have a bug in it..
Wonder who knows about these things
