Default code reader?

What are you guys using to read and clear trouble codes?I need to get something for my "business".I get alot of calls about engine light is on but I have to turn them away because I don`t have anything. A scannalizer is out of the question because of the high price.

Daytona Twintech II Plus. It comes with a Wego IID AFR meter, and the capacity to read codes, reset codes, etc. You can transfer it from bike to bike, and you can send your clients out for a ride, have them come back, and check the AFR at their riding style with a SERT or PCIII. Sweet piece of technology for the price......imvho.

Yeah I `m watching a basic twin tech moduel on ebay. Doesn`t do all you are talking about but will read and clear codes but only works on 2001-2006 delphi and 2003 up carb bikes. i would like to find something that will work on all years.

A new Twin Scan II will read 2001-2008 FI and 2003 to 2006 carb bikes. Runs $140 on ebay, $185 from the manufacturer.

I asked this questin awhile ago, but do you all know anything about getting a break-out box for harley, or making one, a lot of the elec. diag. require a breakout box to avoid having to poke holes with test leads into wiring from a multimeter. good tip on the twin scan; have to get one down the road.

I`m watching a twin tech scanner but likeI said, it`s limited on what years it will work on. I have a break out box at work but it` s a shop tool and not mine. in all the years I`ve been doing thisI haven`t needed a break out box but a couple times. Not enough to justify the price. i have used a scanner on almost a daily basis but again, shop tool, not mine.
