Just wondering what kinda mileage anyone with a thundermax w/ auto tune is getting?
Right now Im happier than hell with my SERT, Ive got it set up kinda lean to squeeze out a few extra MPG. I added an HD oil cooler and am running all synthetics to compensate for any heat issues with being lean.
The appeal of the thundermax is I cant seem to keep an exhaust & a/c set up for more than a few months so it would more than pay for itself with the avoided dyno time. Plus the auto tune part is just really interesting to me. thanks
That is the advantage of the ThunderMax no more Dynotime. You can adjust the AFR for various areas of the TP Map. So you could lean it out for cruising and then richen the rest of table for power.
I put my Thundermax on about 3 weeks ago. My Deuce had been getting around 30 around town. The first tank after the install was 34. It was a mixture of driving. Town and light country. The second tank was 35. I think I played with the throttle less. I think, even with the richer overall mixture, it will do better than stock simply because it runs more effortlessly. I am going to do a run to Muncie next weekend, so it will just sit and run for a while. I look for it to be around 42 or so. You can lean it out wherever you want and richen it up. I haven't had mine long enough to really judge, but I like it about 40% over stock. It is cooler, runs better, starts better, accelerates better, sounds better, and is easier to ride. Yep, I like it.
