Default Do I require another Dyno?

&nbsp\\;I want to change my pipes from Kerker&nbsp\\;slip ons to possibly a set of V@H Big Shots and my tuner guy wants to soak me for another 400 bucks to tune my powercommander. Does this change require another dyno tune?&nbsp\\; I,m not looking for more power, I just want a different look and sound. I,m afraid to mess with my powercommander myself because it is running great.

Quicky
Any time you change the airflow of the engine, as drastic as the pipes do, a new tune is necessary....your tuner is correct.

For optimum performance you should dyno your bike again. But your bike would probably be close if it has been dynoed already. If you change pipes and such a lot consider purchasing your own O2 sensor setup. It would run you about the same as a good dyno tune. Check out Dynojets Wideband 2 set-up

Pipes make a BIG difference in the air flow through the motor....saying a tune is not necessary or the first tune is close enough is grossly exaggerated and totally wrong

Doc you are absolutely right.

But I think he could save the money if he doesn't mind not getting the full benefit from the parts swap. I doubt a parts swap would effect the A/R enough to get him in trouble unless he threw Zoomies and a velocity stack on the thing. As long as he understands the risks he could save a little bit of cash.
