Replaced the original stator at 4700 miles. Got a replacement from Cycle Electric, Inc. This one lasted less than 200 miles. Mechanic said it was faulty stator. Cycle Electric shipped me a new one promptly (wrong stator). Quickly shipped me another one (kudos to their customer service). This one has 100 miles and still working O.K. I looked in the service manual and I couldn't find anything that would make stator go bad. Am I missing something here?

I can only think of two things. Poor initial build quality, or electrical overload. If your bike isn't one of those with all sorts of electrical stuff, then I would say you just got a bad one. My .02
