So my friend and I were riding down the road and he turned his bike off and it wouldn't turn on. We eventually got it to run again by pushing it and popping out the clutch.
When I got it home I took out my multimeter and checked his battery to find it to be 12.6V which is fully charged (when the bike is off). When I turn the bike to acc it is still 12.6V, when I turn the bike to ON it drops to 11.5V.
Now when we try to start the bank it will crank once or twice then completely die, and the voltage across the battery goes to 0V. If I fiddle around with the maxi-fuse connector on the positive battery terminal it will go back to 11.5V and the lights and all will come back on. I tried removing the headlight/taillight fuse and got the voltage to be 12.3V when the bike was ON however when I try to start it, it will still crank once or twice and then die and the battery will goto 0V. If I remove the maxi-fuse connector from the positive terminal it will be back to 12.6V
No, sorry I should of been more specific. The bike is an 06 Harley Sportster 1200C. I am measuring the voltage across the positive battery terminal and whatever ground with my voltometer.
