HID Lights

The Xenon Rider bulb, ballast and wiring harness is all there but you will want to upgrade to the ultra slim ballast for $15 extra. This allows you to install the fairing much easier since it has pig tails to and from it. I use the provided two side tape and stick the ballast on the top of the radio.
HD provides the + & - leads to power the system which are taped to the stock harness that connects to the original headlamp. You will have to plug the original harness back into the Xenon Rider harness for hi/lo control.
The hi/lo HID bulb does not change brightness, it only moves the light up and down. This is useful where I live since it is so hilly.
This system takes me less than 40 minutes to install on newer HD touring bikes but I have done several. The HID is three times brighter than than a 55 watt halogen and uses a third less power to operate. One word of caution using the Xenon Rider system; when the ballast and bike are cool/cold, let the ignition stay on an additional 5 to 10 seconds before you start the bike. It needs a little extra time to warm the ballast before it fires. It can kick out otherwise and you'll have no lights. If this happens, simply turn the ignition off and then back on.
I do not own any part of or am I connected with Xenon Rider, I wanted better lighting and to be seen better by all the text messaging fools out there and this is the best system for the $ I have found to date.

If the kicking out gets to be a problem you can use a relay to isolate balast power from the stock wiring and pull battery power direct from the battery via a fused ckt. Then have the head lamp ckt pwr switch the relay so your not killing the bike wiring.
Additionally you want to also provide an interupt from + or - power surges when the bike is starting. That way you extend the ballest life as well.
