I recently purchased a power commander V and within 3 hours of riding it died. Had to walk a half mile to get a screwdriver to plug the stock ECM back in.
The PCV will not even power up now.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this type problem. It has me wondering if I should even bother replacing it if it is just going to leave me sitting next week too.
If you just bought it and its new, it should have a warrenty to cover getting it replaced. I'd get it replaced and then sell it if you don't intend to use it. That would be better than just taking a loss on the whole deal.
You must have just gotten a bad one. I've had PCs on my last three bikes and most of the guys I ride with have a PCIII or a PCV.
If you search the forum on PC V, you will see a lot of positive feedback on them. I suspect you have a faulty one and this is not the norm. Check your connection to make sure there are no bent pins.
