Default Siren for security system installation

I went to buy a chain to lock my bike last week. All the decent ones were $120+

I decided to buy the siren instead, being I wouldn't ever be far from the bike, and wouldn't have to carry that 320398202930lb chain around.

$85 full retail at dealer ( I didn't plan ahead and order online)

Techs wanted 1.5 hours to install, but encouraged me to just do it myself. They said it was a pain, but easy.

So fast forward... It took me longer to get the 7/16 socket (it went into hiding) than it did to install the siren. 2 bolts, 2 dirty hands, abd 10 minutes.

That was really easy, and saved me $150 installation. No lift, no special tools.

The siren is plenty loud, but the notifcation chirps are nice and quiet so you don't wake up the neighborhood arming/disarming.

I'm pretty happy with the choice, and it gave me the peace of mind to be able to sleep while Bernice was sleeping under the stars.

Put mine on Saturday PM. Like he said, way too simple. Flashing lights are ok but I prefer to hear my bike trying to be moved or messed with.

I hope you got the Siren II, if so also get the Pager II as it works great in combination with the Siren II, I have both. Your stealer was going to rip you off if they were going to charge you 1.5 hours for labor, it's a quick and easy install as you've already found out. Order it from Zanotti's and save some money.

I'll have to check on the version. It was a last minute shopping thing before a trip, so no time to order of Zanottis. I had originally planned on buying a chain from Cycle Gear. When I saw the cost, I changed my mind and got a siren instead. Worked out OK, because with shipping I would be only a couple bucks ahead. Zanotti has clamped down on their shipping now for small orders.

Service Manager told me to talk to one of his techs because it was an easy install, but sometimes takes a while if things don't cooperate. Tech even showed me where it goes on a bike that was on a lift. It's rare, but I think I have an honest dealer.
