TMAT Communication Problems....
Anyone had a problem with getting a communication time out error? I am able to get it to link, then as soon as I try to read the map, etc., I get a communication interrupted message. After this it will no longer link, and tells me the software has found ports, but no module. Doing this on 3 differerent laptops, 2 Vista, one xp. I've checked all the connections, completely removed and installed software, as well asd the unit itself. Thought maybe it was a vista, usb to serial adapter issue, so I went out and purchased a used laptop w/XP and a serial port. No change. Been speaking with Randy at Zippers, and he assured me that he thought it was a Vista issue, and not the TMax.
The curious thing is that when I initially installed the unit a week ago, it worked fine. I was able to load the correct map, monitor functions, etc. all worked. I know the unit is working properly because of the way the bike is running, and I also have the Thunderheart speedo that shows real-time AFR's with the bike running, front and rear.
No bent pin, connections are tight, bike runs great, AFR's adjusting.........
Just totally confused and pissed. I've spent almost a week trying to get the module to communicate.
Anyone with a similar experience? Any advice would be appreciated. Runnin' out of hair to pull out.
