ignition switch bad?

ignition switch bad?
Seem to have a dead spot in my 2002 Heritage ignition switch. With ignition on, I can move the switch clockwise and everything shuts off. Anyone have a cure for this other than a new switch?

Same thing was happening on my Ultra. Wiggled it and the radio and whatnot would come back on. I had the switch replaced. You can check the contacts and the wiring at the back of the switch first though.

Have also seen this on anther bike. The contacts appeared to have got hot either by being wet or dirty then the plastic melts and distorts and the alignment for the center movable contact looses connection.
You will eventually be stranded someplace with out any power if you leave that switch or try an repair it.
I would think that the best solution would be to change it out completely. Was not an easy fix for my friend. He could not get a like keyed ignition switch and had to also change his fork lock on his Heritage to have the same key for both again.
