Starting problems

I went to start my road king today and all I got was an attempt to turn over then it wouln't do anything. If I turn the ignition to start the dash security light(red key symbol) lights momentarily but no disply of the odometer or anything else. Turn the switch to ACC and then I get the odometer to show up but either way, she will not turn over. The battery tender shows the battery to be around 80% according to the flashing green light.
DO I have a starter problem or id somthing else up?

Wiggle the ignition switch.... you could have a failing switch... When the odometer display shows while you are wiggling it, that will tell you that the switch is faulty....
