I just took my bike out for the first ride after changing cams, and a final drive ratio change. 07 Ultra. The VSS number I was running was 2240 which worked for my rear tire. dead on with a GPS. I when to a 30 tooth Andrews drive pulley and a 68 tooth rear pulley. The new number is 2460. ((2240 * 32 / 66) *68 / 30) = 2461. So I am driving along with traffic, my speedometer appears pretty close to traffic and speed signs. But my Odometer is almost spinning! I rode to work about 10 miles and I've racked up about 1000 miles. Help!
I found some help with the answer on another forum, here it is:
It was suggested I may have hit the upper limit that you can adjust the VSS, and that was the answer. However it ain't 2460! The dyslectic idiot that I am put in 2640! Somewhere between 2460 to 2640 is that limit.
I lowered it to 2240 and the odometer worked correctly, so I stopped up the road, down loading my Vtune map, changed the VSS to 2460 and started collecting data.
