Turn signals and horn not working?!
Just bought some chrome switch covers from my local HD stealership for my 05 FXSTS and installed them today. I did NOT disconnect the battery. When I finished with the left side horn, hi/lo and turn signal worked fine. When I finished with the right side, start, on/off work fine. But now none of the turn signals will flash (front or back), the horn doesn't sound, and as far as I can tell the brake light never changes.
[*]Checked the front stop switch in the right hand controller and it's not jammed[*]Checked the diagnostics PSSTt and everything says it's okay.[*] Disconnected the battery, and reconnected and still no go.
Can anyone think of anything else I need to check before I have to take it back to the dealership?
Thanks in advance,

Went back to the bike. Went over everything thing I did. Inspected the wires and everything looked good. So pulled out my service manual, looked for a common electrical component between the turn signals and the horn and viola. The #6 fuse. The accessory fuse. Pulled it out, it was blown. Replaced it and everything is working fine. Must have grounded something on that fuse while I was doing the wiring.
Forgive the dramatic write up. I'm a neophite when it comes to anything automotive never mind motorcycles. This is my first bike at age 42 and I've never really looked at a schematic for an electrical system before. Yup, white collar guy with blue collar parents. Thank God for the little bit of genetic material that my dad passed down

Anyhow, ride safe and ride often. I know I'm going to

05 FXSTS[/QUOTE - I logged on just to thank you for this. So many people never give a conclusion. I was ready to zip these bars back apart. I had even looked at that fuse before, but after your post I gave it a second look and it was blown. Thanks again.

And you now know why the service manual tells you to remove the main fuse whenever you are working on the electrical system.
Welcome to the forum.
