Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
Does anyone know what ECM Code P0562 is. I ran a diagnostic and this is what I got after the yellow engine light and red battery light came on while riding my brand new 06 Street Bob. It only has 95 miles on the odometer. My fuel pump sounds louder than normal when I first flip on the run switch to start the bike and I put new spark plug wires on yesterday. I don't know if either of these things are related.
Thats interesting because I keep the bike on a battery tender when it is not in use. I wonder if the new plug wires could be causing the ECM to think the voltage is low, because of a difference in the resistance between the stock wires and the aftermarket, thicker 8mm wires.
Its not the plug wires.
It must be something else.
There should be a wire with big fuse in the batterybox going from the + on the battery to the battery tender connector.
Is the fuse ok? Is the cable connected correct to the battery?
Have you got a digital voltmeter? Check the voltage directly over the battery.
Did you do the DTC diagnose with SERT data mode? Then you can check the battery voltage. Its a "item/parameter" in the data mode.
I checked the spark plug cables and checked all the battery cables and the fuse to the battery tender. I also checked all other fuses. Everything seems to be okay. I'm not sure what you meant when you said I could check the voltage of the battery in the SERT mode. When I did the diagnostics I followed the directions from this site and got the error code when I held in the odometer reset button when the "P" of "PSSPT" was flashing.
I will call the dealer tomorrow as the bike is brand new I'll let them figure it out under warranty. Thanks again for your help.
Yahoo, I figured it out. I found a loose wire in the wires behind the voltage regulator. It was a b**ch to get to it. I had to take off the voltage regulator and the plastic wire cover behind it. I must have made it loose when I was looking for the wire for the O2 eliminator. I gave it a good test drive and it runs like a champ, with no error messages.
