I burned up my TSSM 2004 FSXT with an over charge on the battery. Ordered a new TSM, plugged in, turned on the ignition and I get no security (key) light. I know the security light works because when the TSM is unplugged the security light will come on when the ignition is turned on. I know the wire from the TSM plug to the speedo is good because I checked with an ohm meter. When I push the starter the bike fires but does not start. Ive done this a couple of times, then you have to wait awhile because the starter will not fire until a period of time goes by. I think I can go through the process if the security light would show up can anyone please help? Thanks to all, this is a great site
Upon reading other tsm/tssm post's I found that when replacing a tssm with a tsm you will not get the security lamp(key) when marrying the tsm to the bike. I was able to use a timer and after the second try I was sucessful. Thanks to all who checked out my thread
So how do you use the timer? are you talkin about the procedure where you wait ten minutes between security lights lighting on dash?
I read the tssm marrying procedure and saw somewhere that you have to wait ten minutes until the security light flashes but it didn't flash with a TSM so I've been puzzled since..... Do I just use a timer and wait the prescribed time?---thanks
