2003 Deuce EFI - Throttle pre startup normal?
I have my first fuel injected bike, an 03 Deuce. Is it normal to have to turn the throttle 2 or 3 times before cranking over? If I don't, first startup of the day takes a few cranks. Once it runs and I turn it off, it starts right back up. Its just on the initial startup where I have to do this. Not sure why it would need exta gas even with the EFI? When I do the throttle at pre crank, it starts as soon as I hit the start. Thanks!!!

No, you don't have to twist the throttle prior to cranking. The reason you do that with carbs is because it squirts a small stream of gas (via the accellerator pump) in the carb which helps during a cold cranking condition. EFI compensates with fuel enrichment during cranking. You may want to give it a few seconds to allow the fuel pump to pressurize the injectors prior to startup though.
