Okay...so here's the deal...I have a 2009 Harley rocker with less than 500 miles on it. I went to load it into a trailer yesterday because I am moving from Colorado to Maryland; the trailer and I had a fairly large disagreement...I thought it should remain stable, and it thought a bolt should break....basically the trailer lurched and my bike ended up on its side with the front wheel past the lip of the front of the trailer...took me, a buddy, and a little elbow grease; but we stood her up and got her positioned correctly on the trailer and then used a jack to stabilize the trailer and fix the bolt issue.
Now, however, my Bike will not start. With the key in the ACC position the rear light (dimly) will come on and the break lights will come on (brightly). Nothing more, nothing less.
In the IGN position the headlight will try to spark to life but remains incredibly dim, nothing more, nothing less. I have checked all the wires and cables I can access they have no tears; I have inspected all of the fuses and they are all good; I have tried just turning it off and back on: no joy; I also tried resetting the alarm; no bueno as the turn signals will not give me an indicative flash to put in my code; Bike won't start; nothing happens at all when I place it in the Run position. any body have any ideas?
I have seen this but only when the bike has gone down in a crash. There is a safety feature in the ecm which shuts down the ignition when it goes down. sometimes this does not re-set itself. Also check your system and starter relays. You may have a problem with the ECM.
TickTock; I did check the battery, and when I say I checked the battery what I mean is I didn't check it at all :P My buddy brought over a voltmeter when it wouldn't start and checked it for me and he said it was good. BUT; as I was driving 700 miles through Kansas, Illinois, and Indiana today (which completely sucks a big, hairy, goat nugget when you're not on a bike) I thought to myself "Check your battery again dumba$$," which I coincidentally thought of after reading your response to my post as I was somewhere in Indiana. So I stopped by the local wrench turners and exchanged a cold 6-pack for the brief use of a voltmeter...survey says: 5.2 Volts...I am guessing I need to charge the battery I get to Maryland tomorrow and will jump it when I get there.
Thanks for the responses guys. SOCAL, you are the second person to tell me that; I had heard a story about that happening to someone before and it was my first fear...I don't like my bike anywhere near the stealers...they suggest I buy things and I listen.
Here's my story. 99 softail clone. Ultracycle Wide One. 759 miles. Turn signals only work if the bike is idling high (i.e. choke engaged). When the bike idles down, like at a stop, the signals self cancel. If the bike is not running, ignition on, the signals won't work. If at idle, not working either. Rev the engine and the signals work. 13.8 volts at idle and 13.9 to 14.0 at higher revs. Can't figure this one out. Please help!

Remember, check battery is equivalent to reboot. It only has to work once to be the first thing you do NEXT time!
