i just got my bike from the dealer and they told me they loaded a base map into the sert but they said there was no map that fit my build. so they tweeked they said. well it runs like crap and they ant 400 to dyno, and i do want to get it on a dyno but after dropping 3k in the motor i can not afford it for a month or so.
the build is fresh only about 350 miles on it and the dealer did the entire install

Your 06 Dyna should have O2 sensors. I would load the map from the vci to computer. See what file or map you are working with. See if the map has smart tune in the ve tables. If so do a data run to collect info an use smart tune to adjust the ve tables for the closed loop area of the map, may make it run a little better for you. Smart Tune will do nothing for the open loop areas of the map. Dyno is what you need for that.

Thanks for the info, once the software is loaded will it give you some basic user info
i have the pciii before and it was easy to tune but it did not have the smart tune, does the sofware tell you how to use it.
When you open the tuner there will be 4 tab on right an one explains how to use smart tune. Just make sure to rename the new file something different than the original when you save it.

You'll probably want a performance tune on a Dyno eventually, but to get it rideable for now do the Smart Tune. You've already paid the big bucks for the VCI, I think the software cost me 30 0r 40 bucks USD. Maybe less.
