My 2004 FLSTC Twin Cam has been working fine for over 53k miles. Just went on a Blue Ridge Parkway trip a couple of weekends ago. 730 miles round trip w/ no problems. This week out of nowhere, leaving a restuarant the bike won't start. Weird ticking sound that I know isn't the battery. After a few more attempts it starts. I make not even a 1/8th of a mile down the road and it cuts off on me in traffic. I push it into a parking lot.
Come back 2 hrs later w/ the wife and trailer. I do a speedo/trip dianostic check. Gives me a rear ignition coil. I reset it try to start it and it fires up. I drive it home no problems.
Next day go on a approx. 60 mile poker run last stop, same thing won't start. Same simptoms had to trailer home.
Check the plugs and the are lean. Take the igniter coil to two seperate mechanics. They both say it's good. Buy new plugs and plug wires and put everything back together.
Go for a ten mile ride today w/ no problem till I park in the garage w/ bike idling it shuts off. Couldn't get it to start again.
WTF? Any helpful advice would be appreciated.
