1990 Fl High Torque Starter
Hey Now, I a Newbie. I have a 1990 FLH with a 100 cu.in. Revtech engine with compression releases. I sent it to a local shop for some minor carb work. Apparently the guy was starting the bike without using the compression releases. Now I have a starter with broken teeth on the starter motor shaft and clutch teeth. I would like to move up to a high torque starter but the ones I find seem to be too big to fit in the frame. As in the starter motor is to long. I don't think the stock starter is worth rebuilding, as the whole motor will require replacement as well as the clutch gears. This is a real bummer. Any Ideas? Thanks guys. John
