Hello...I run a kick-only chopper (home built) points ign, 80" Evo motor. I've had a real hard time starting it lately. Been riding this bike for 6 years this way. I have many coils laying around and every one has different resistance readings, as follows
#1= P=4.5ohms S=18,910 ohms
#2= P=3.8 " S=17,700 "
#3= P=5.0 " S=11,550 "
#4= P=4.5 " S=24,060 "
I now have a coil in there that is factory spec perfect and it runs fine and starts good.
P=5.0 S= 18,000 ohms
My question is : Do these other readings mean that these coils are no good? I think one or two were supposed to be 40,000 volts plus to the plugs. None of them are for electronic ign.,so what gives? Thanks in advance
