Default Wire pins..

Does anyone have a part number, or size/item number/whatever for the metal pins that get crimped onto the end of the wires from the handle bars ( that plug into the jacks under the tank)? (The wires from the High/Lo switch, horn, starter, run.. NOT the turn signal pins)

I snapped 2 of them removing the pins from the harness so I could change out my handlebars. d'oh. There's an electronics store that sells them in every shape and size, and I just don't know which size they are. Thx

There's two different connector types. Theres 6 and an 8 pin Molex connectors that the switch assemblies use and a 6 pin AMP Multilock connector that the turn signals use (black purple and blue wires).

You would have to identify the wire guage that it is and buy the appropriate size pin. Unfortunately the ones you buy from HD cost around $275 for the crimping tool, however I found this post on another site:

"I just bought one from "Toolsource.com" or you can call them at 1-888-220-8350
Here's the numbers and price on the crimper.
S&G Ratcheting Terminal Crimper for Weatherpack Terminal
Mfr. part number: 18930
SKU: 96175
Price: $29.95"

I believe that is the one that does the AMP Multilock connoectors. They should be able to get you one for the Molex connectors pretty cheap too.

BTW... do you have a softail service manual? I could shoot a few pics of the appropriate pages and e-mail them to you if you dont.

See you on the Fatboy Lo thread!

P.S. You also could just solder in a jumper and heat shrink it. You will just have to work with the desoldering if you ever have to pull the harness through your slammers again.

Crimping tool i already have, i just need 2 pins.. and yeah i have the service manual but i don't see the numbers/sizes of the actual little tiny metal pins

all i got is AMP Multilock Connector Pin Terminal (Male).. might be this one, but i dont know about the size

and it fits into these connectors:

http://www.deutschconnector.com/prod...g_harness.html

which house the wires for the handlebar switches with the exception of the turn signals

Hmm that's weird that yours uses deutsch connectors and mine uses molex ones like on page A-18 (2010 softail manual). The molex ones are very quick and easy...

the Harley part number is 72169-07, they're 40 cents each, which is a 10 cent markup per pin, and are called:

Terminal, Pin
#16-20 AWG
