flasher wiring

Question flasher wiring

in factory manual it shows 2 green wires going to the flasher from the left and right handlebar switchs.then it shows only one green wire going to the flasher but coming from something like could be a 3way tap? it doesnt say.anybody with some info on this

There is an orange and a green wire going to the flasher. All of the orange wires on the bike are always 12 volts with the key on. The one green is a combination of one from each handlebar switch - combined at a junction.

After that it gets too complicated for me. Follow the wires back from the lights. They join up in a headlite connector.

I think what you're seeing is item number 35? My manual is from 70 to 78. In my manual, item number is just a simple connector. I just ran both wires to a female spade plug and crimped them both in. I suppose you could run both wires into a butt connector , then run one lead to the flasher, or solder and heat shrink them. I was trying to limit my number of connections(chances for failure) . That was why I ran them both to the female crimp on plug.

ok thanx everyone now one more question does an 82 sporty use a turn signal module?
to turn on or off? or do i just hold the button down?

That turn signal module came 1991...
