I am having problems with using my new powervision from fuelmotousa. I can't get my computer to reconize the device. It says the drivers are not compatable.
I am using Windows Vista 64 bit. I downloaded the software from dynojet.com. I have reinstalled the 64 bit software from the site using the compressed file and the uncompressed. Can I get some help or is this not compatable?
Powervision when plugged in displays 'PC link mode Active'
Also I can't get the device to turn on. The power button has no response. I tried plugging in the port turn on ignition and run switch. Bike is up but power vision does not do anything. The only time I get any response from the unit is when I plug it into my pc. Could I have gotten a defective unit and that is why it is not recognized by my computer and will not load the driver?
***update***
Ok tried a different USB port and the driver installed. I updated the map base with the update client and that seemed to go fine. When I plug the unit into the bike I still get nothing.
***update 2***
I called Jamie at fuel moto and he got it up in 3 seconds. I had it plugged into the accessory port not the j1850 port. The j1850 port is located underneathe the left side cover that mirrors the battery box.

I understand you wanting to check for a possible solution here first...so did I. If something is wrong with a device FM sold you, just give them a call. They doubled the warranty on your device, so you're covered if it's faulty.
Also, a poster named iclick is very knowledgeable about the PV and might be able to assist with setting up your PV. Look him up.
In the interim...Jaime will see your post and respond by days end. I'll bet you a beer!
I had a similiar occurance when it was plugged into the bike until I made sure the bike was turned to ON and had the switch in the "RUN" position. Is that really a power button? It does nothing for me either.
Well I put the device in recovery mode with it so the button works I guess. I just plugged it in with the one cable ignition on and run button on and no response.
Glad to see Jamie got you going. I haven't made the changes to my bike yet, so I've only pulled the stock off the bike. I'm hoping to get time this weekend away frome the honey-doo list to put on the a\c and slip-ons along with the minor maintenance that needs to be done. Enjoyable riding weather is finally here!

That's the only function of the red hardware switch AFAIK. BTW there's a fairly active thread in the Touring section on PV if anyone is interested.
I installed my powervision last week on my 2009 FXDF. Man that's a smooth good tune. Excellent power thru out the entire rpm range. I had a fuelpack before and got rid of it. I could never stop the bike from pinging spark knock from half throttle on. So I got rid of it and bought this. Outstanding unit. I cannot wait to recam and install the big bore kit soon
Why would you start a thread titled "Problems with Power Vision", or problems with any product or service, prior to sorting it out?
As it turns out, the problem was not with the PV but rather with your incorrect installation.
Reading the title only, as many will do, gives an unwarranted/unfair negative connotation of the product. Perception is reality in the eyes of the beholder. It takes much effort to build a reputation for quality products and services, and unfortunately, very little to diminish that reputation.
Your call to FuelMoto should have been your first step.

That's very good advice.
I will try to remember that my self. sometimes it's to easy to come on here and say I'm having a problem with a product when in fact, you don't really mean any harm.
