The software can be downloaded for free from the dynojet site... so if you can borrow a laptop, download the software and the map that you want to use first while the laptop is hooked up to the internet.

I ran mine without zeroing the throttle and had idle issues... but I didn't worry about it since I was heading to an official dynojet dyno site. If you want to try to get by with the way that the bike runs (it will more than likely be at least a little rich) using the factory map, then you should zero the throttle. My factory map was for V&H pipes instead of HD SE Dbl Barrels but dynojet said to use it. There was probably a whole point on the A/F ratio difference in the V&H and HD's, making mine really rich (also pointing out that the V&H's flow better).

After the dyno I picked up horsepower, torque, and mileage. Am I saving enough gas to pay for the dyno work? No... but I have a bigger grin on my face when I hit the throttle!

I installed the commander last night on my 07 standard. I have the big shots staggered. I downloaded the map for these modifications. The only thing I dont have is the screamin eagle stage 1 air cleaner kit which the map is for. My bike seems to be idleing a little fast, and also when you are slowing down and coming to a stop, it doesn't have the "loap" that it used to before the changes. It this because I have not zeroed the throttle, or is this because I dont have the air cleaner yet? I figured I may be running a little "fat", but didn't figure that would hurt anything since these bikes seem to run lean anyway. How do I zero the throttle?

Ride your bike for 10 minutes so that it will be warmed up. Hook your laptop to the powercommander and start the bike. On the right hand side you will see % throttle. With the bike idling at closed throttle this value should read 0%. If it is not reading zero then you need to click powercommander tools at the top of the screen and select set throttle position. Hit the arrow button to the right of the closed box. This will 0 your throttle. Also this link has the power commander tutorial for setting the throttle position. http://www.powercommander.com/tut_download.shtml

Well lets see...Gas from Texas to Northern Virginia and back. It would probably be cheaper to buy the laptop.

I zero'd my throttle last night. Is it normal for the throttle position to go from 0 to 67 to 33 and back to zero while idleing? Also, is there a way to lower the idle speed?

I have not seen my bike do that. While idling it stays at 0%.

Do you mean the numbers in the reset part of the PCIII or do you mean the idle speed?

Mine was actually around 4k something at idle.

I'm talking about the throttle percentage at the right of the screen. I hit the arrow button and then the reset button. It popped up a window saying something like the difference between the two values is below the minimum recommended setting.?

Mine looks just like this shot here except my values are a bit higher. Throttle is at 0%. Before you reset it, it will bounce around. Maybe it didn't take?
