Ok so Let me lead off with I am not done with my motor. I am however done with it until next winter. I have a moderate list done, I plan to finish off with a 103" and headwork.(don't know who will do machine work yet). I usually do 7500 miles or so a year, this your will pobably be more do to gas prices and a 9 day trip planned. I have a pcv that I got from fuel moto, the gave me a updated map. My bike seems to run great, start up good, pulls through all gears, no decal popping, but it puffs black smoke if you crack it hard, avg 30mpg, and is a little spongy at low rpms(1300-1800). My local HD dealer Has a good tuner, he is suggested by a local indy, and a couple builders. know a couple guys who used him and were all happy. price is good 180.00. I dont want to hurt my bike or spend money I dont need to. what would you do? here is my list
-SE Heavy Breather
-SE Plug Wires
-SE Plugs
-Python Staggered Duals
-Andrews 30t
-Barnett Clutch Spring
-SE Compensator
-Andrews 54h cams
-Andrews Adj Push Rods
-Andrews 4* advance
--fyi fuel moto gave me the same exact tune when I had a rinehart 2 into 1, wimmer better sucker, and no 4*advacne. the rest was the same.
I'd get the tune, from what you describe and the fact your getting 30 mpg your running really rich. You need to lean the fuel out a little.
But one question did you recalibrate your speedo after the pulley change? If not that will screw your mileage calculations up, your speedo is not recording the correct mileage if the speedo is off.

true true, I had not thought of that factor, it is 5mph off. My other option is autotune, but i really dont want to fiddle with that. just want my stuff right. I already have a appiontment for saturday, I was just trying to decide if I should bale or not. I know 100% I will need a tune when I do the rest.
