Default FLHT Cruise Contol kit on 03 FLHRI

I have 18" apes with internal wiring. I've done everything myself and am very capable of doing pretty much anything on a Harley.

I have looked into kit number 77196-04, which should work on my bike. It is for a FLHT but I basically have the same bike, just no faring and a year older. This kit does not come with a "throttle rolloff connection" for the stock idle cable that is split in middle. This is good for me as I don't have that cable any more. Even the kit listed for the 03 doesn't have a throttle rolloff connection in it either, 77182-02.

My question is this:

How does the throttle rolloff work on this kit? Is it simply that the module has the sensor in it now and can feel the cable being pushed back in when the idle cable is pulling the induction control in the opposite direction? I know the older bikes required that connection in the middle of the idle cable, but the new ones don't seem to have it any longer.

Or does it just not need an idle rolloff cable at all? I don't really anticipate using it that way anyway. I will either turn it on, or turn it off.

And, just so someone doesn't tell me that I can't use the FLHT kit on my FLHR because the switches aren't on both handlebars and there are no lights, I don't care about that. I have already figured out that I can hook up the on/off to the right radio control switch and then EVERYTHING for cruise will be under my right thumb. And I'm good at wiring, so I can make the plugs work too. My bike does have the main plug under the left side cover so I'm good there too for plugging in the main module.

I don't think the switch lights do anything besides just tell you its on or off anyway. right?

Can someone just please tell me how the rolloff works on this newer kit? I have found one at a dealer and they are offering it to me at 75% off just so they can get rid of it (that's $100, might as well be free). And we all know that dealers aren't going to tell me something works unless it is specifically listed in their catalog. Even if we can "make" it work.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Rob
