Short problem
So I went to start my '97 FXD today and I got a snap sound from I believe near the starter.Kind of like an electrical arc sound,and everything went dead.No lights no nothing.I waited a while and tried again and got the same thing.But now when I turn the key to ignition or accessory position my battery volts drop to zero.I disconnected the hot lead to the starter and the lead from the same terminal to the 30 amp main breaker and got no change in volts.When I jump the hot lead and the wire to the 30 amp,with the starter out of circuit,I get the voltage drop.So the short is not in the starter its gotta be the circuit beyond.Its gotta be a dead short because I'm not just seeing a drraw,its loading my battery down to zero.Anyone got any ideas as to what it could be?
