So I have a 94 Heritage Softtail Classic and purchased the bike with an assembled title. There is a complicated story to go with the title so I will forgo that now. The bike is titled as a 2004 but upon changing the oil, primary and trans fluid I realized the location of the Trans fluid drip tube (directly centered underneath the cover on the right side of the bike, when anything newer than 2000 should be centered between the shocks) and along with other findings, know that the bike is between 1994 and 1999.
I replaced the spark plugs with Screaming Eagle plugs with a gap of .040 and the bike now seems to run improperly. It doesn't sound fluid when idling. It sounds stress and as if it is working harder than it should. The questions I ask are: Is that plug gap acceptable for a bike (1340cc) between 1994 and 1999, and are there any recommendations as to what I can try to fix the problem.
Thank you for any and all considerations
