which auto tuner?
Ok keep in mind I know nothing about efi systems! This is my first efi bike, 06 softail, came with a black race tuner with a date of 06 on the little black box. Bike just has pipes and ac but I will soon be doing a 211 cam, 10.25:1 se piston kit. Doing the work myself but what should I do with the race tuner? Should I just put a base map in? Should I use a hq pro tuner with an 02 sensor? Does screamin eagle make an auto tuner type thing to work with my old race tuner? I'm trying to do it properly but I don't want to waste a bunch of cash on something I don't need and I don't really want to pay somebody to dyno it incase I change my engine components in 2 more years. I'm new to playing with this stuff too. I went with the ThunderMax TBW and so far I've been thrilled. I put a heavy breather air cleaner on and Screamin Eagle slip ons with mediocre results. Once I added the ThunderMax, what a difference! I like it because no matter what I do to my bike, it (supposedly) can adapt to it and keep everything running where it's supposed to. I'm no expert, this is just my 2 cents. From what I've seen so far, worth every penny.
