I'm ready to pull the trigger on fuel management for my bike. Some might remember that I gutted my stock slip ons a while back and I'm getting used to the obnoxious nature of the sound but I'm wanting to wake her up a bit. The performance dropped substantially. Better slip ons and a/c is in the works also. So I'm looking on Ebay and found one I've heard good things about while reading here for the past few months. Now there's 2 versions of it. The Cobra FI2000R and the Cobra FI2000-CLo2. They're both listed to fit the same year and model as mine but nowhere do they say what advantages one has over the other. Any help would be appreciated.

I had the Fi2000r on another bike and its good to simply add fuel to the mix, but thats all that it does. I think the o2 version is the same concept only ties in with youre o2 sensors. For more in depth info their website (cobrausa.com) has more info on it. If youre stuck on cobra they have a new auto tuner (fi2000 powerpro) that is getting great reviews and results.
You cant go wrong going through fuelmoto. I went with the dynojet powervision from them and got great results, and their customer service is outstanding. The powercommander3 and 5 are also a good way to go, but they are piggy back systems and have to stay on the bike. And youre functions are more limited with them.
If performance is youre main deal than find a good dyno shop and go with what they are comfortable with.
I am surprised with the performance gains I got with the powervision. The fi2000r I had richened up my fuel mix like I wanted but there wasnt much of a performance impact at all.
Theres a million of different tuner options out there and im sure youll hear about all of em. Id check out www.fuelmotousa.com to learn about their products.

I would go with a programer type of fuel management. That way there is not a piggyback devise that just fools the ECM to produce changed fuel values. I have a SERT that you can change just about everything from timing to fuel curves. JMO. A SEPRO tuner or TTS are very good and now there is powervision too. All the others I would like to see more about them before I would say they are good or bad. In most cases if it's cheap then you get what you pay for. Most good tuners run $300-$600 or more. The t-max and self tuners all have had issues not sure if it is operater error or the tuner itself
